Step-by-Step Manicure Instructions
Step 1: Remove Old Nail Polish
Start by taking off any old nail polish with remover and cotton pads. Make sure your nails are fully clean, with no leftover polish.
Step 2: Shape Your Nails
Use nail clippers to trim your nails to your preferred length. Then, gently file the edges to smooth out any rough bits and shape them as you like – round, square, or somewhere in between.
Step 3: Soak and Soften
Mix some baking powder with Manuka Honey to make a paste. Fill a small bowl with warm water. (you can add some bubble bath or shower gel if you like) Put some paste on each finger along the cuticle line and rub in gently. Soak your hands for 2-3 minutes. This will soften your cuticles, making them easier to manage.
Step 4: Care for Cuticles
Dry your hands with a towel. Using a cuticle pusher or orangewood stick, gently push back the cuticles.
Step 5: Exfoliate
For extra pampering, to soften the skin, you can use an exfoliant or use a soft brush to apply some Manuka Honey on the top of the hands and leave it for 10 minutes. (The Manuka Honey has a natural exfoliating effect.) Wash off and pat dry.
Step 6: Moisturise
Massage a generous amount of Nature’s Gold Hand crème or Therapeutic Cream into your hands and nails until fully absorbed. This helps keep your skin soft and healthy.
Step 7: Prep for Polish
If your nails feel oily after moisturising, wipe them with a bit of nail polish remover to help the polish stick better.
Step 8: Apply Base Coat
Start with a thin layer of base coat. This protects your nails and helps the colour go on smoothly.
Step 9: Apply Colour
Apply your chosen nail polish in thin layers, letting each coat dry before adding the next. Usually two coats give a good, even colour.
Step 10: Finish with Top Coat
Seal your colour with a layer of top coat. This adds shine and helps prevent chips.
Step 11: Clean Up
Dip a cotton bud in nail polish remover and tidy up any stray polish around your nails for a neat finish.
Tips for a Top-Notch Manicure
· Don’t rush – allow each layer of polish to dry properly.
· Keep your polish in a cool, dry spot so it lasts longer.
· Moisturise regularly to keep your hands looking fresh.
· For a quick-dry option, use a fast-drying top coat.
Now you’re good to go with hands and nails that will look and feel amazing. Settle in with a cuppa while your polish dries and enjoy your fresh, at-home manicure.
